Welcome to the 2009
Roots Rock Trail Running Series!
This is a fun, challenging set of races through beautiful single track trails and dirt roads. Set in historic Port Gamble, the races are sure to please those seeking a fun, rugged alternative to the road. The trails are in the town’s privately owned 4300 acre tree farm, which is home to deer, owls, coyotes, bears, and other animals!

This year we have a couple of changes. There will be two 50K/25K runs, the Babcock grew by a mile, and no more Spring Fling. We also hope to add a 5K June 14th, and will update it here soon.

Once again there will be Age group series awards, with awards for those at the Spooky 12K this year.


COST: SERIES RACES
Fishline 50K/25K is Free (bring canned food).
Babcock Farms, Bear of a Run & Save Our Pool are $15.
Port Gamble 1/2 & Roots Rock 50K/25K are $20.
Day of race add $5 (call to confirm space).

SHIRTS: All Shirts will be Adidas Tech shirts
Series Shirt - $10
Roots Rock 50K/25K shirt - $10
Spooky 12K shirt - $10

The proceeds of these races will benefit local cross country teams and North Kitsap Trails Association.

7:30 a.m. Start of both 50k/25k
(remember, Fishline starts at Stottlemeyer (gate 4))
8:10 a.m. Shuttle to start of Bear of Run)
8:15 a.m. Registration ends
8:30 a.m. Race Starts!

INDIVIDUAL RACE AWARDS
There will be awards for overall male and female winners, as well as ribbons three deep in age groups. There will be lots of random prizes as well given out during the awards.

Port Gamble 1/2 (scores double pts)

* Prizes for top three in each age group will be given at Port Gamble 1/2

AID STATIONS
OK, we’re not going to have an aid station every mile, but we will have at least one. The length of the race will determine how many aid stations there will be. All aid stations will be stocked with water, energy drinks, and friendly volunteers!

DRIVING DIRECTIONS - Port Gamble Map

From Poulsbo - Head NE on Bond Rd. (HWY 307) . At Striebel’s Corner take a left (HWY 104) and follow signs into Port Gamble. There will be signs for where to park.

From Silverdale/Bremerton - Head North on HWY 3 past the Hood Canal bridge. Upon arriving in Port Gamble, look for signs for where to park.

From B.I./Seattle - Take HWY 305 North through Poulsbo and at Bond Rd. (HWY 307) hang a right. Follow above directions.

From Edmonds/Kingston - Head West on HWY 104 and follow signs to Port Gamble.
