2009 Race Descriptions

Fishline 50K/25K
This is the 3rd year of this free run. Please bring canned food for Fishline food bank. This is a self supported run so bring your own aid. Remember this is at Gate 4 (Stottlemeyer Rd). Fishline 50K/25K

Series Points Race - Babcock Farms 5 miler
Yes, this is a 5 miler this year. We have added some super fun new single track. In addition there will be a new award for the first male and female to the top of the hill. The run takes you up through the old Babcock Farms property, and to some spectacular views. Exiting the farm you climb a little longer, and then flatten out through the woods before running back down into Port Gamble.

Series Points Race - Save Our Pool/ NK XC 5K
This is a fundraiser for the North Kitsap pool and the Viking XC team. This course has a little bit of it all, grass, pavement, dirt, maybe mud, and some small hills. Run through Port Gamble before heading into the woods on some new single track and finishing back in Port Gamble. There will also be a high school competition (combined top 2 male and female times) for a little bragging rights!

Series Points Race - Bear of a Run 8 miler
You will be shuttled to the start of this race, and finish in Port Gamble. This course follows some fun single track and dirt roads climbing to the ridge, before heading back down to the finish.

Series Points Race - Port Gamble Half-Marathon
A challenging out and back course through beautiful single track trails and dirt roads. This run has a little bit of it all, with plenty of hills and fast descents.
We will have beer, soda and bbq for all participants.
Age group series award will follow this race.

Roots Rock 50/25k
This will be the second year of this race. This starts and finishes in Port Gamble with quite a bit of single track, and you actually get to come down through Babcock Farms.
There will be beer, soda and bbq to follow.

Spooky 12K & Kids 1 Miler
Starting and finishing in Port Gamble, the hills aren’t the only scary part of this race! Dress up for this one, with the best costume contest to follow the race. The Spooky 1 Miler is free and for the kids only. Run into the woods and follow the trail to see the old bears den before running back to town!
